“You did not choose me but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit – fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.” (John 15: 16 NIV). Beloved, God has chosen you to live another week; what a glorious opportunity! But it is not just that you live, but that you live a meaningful, productive and prosperous week. He is giving you a blank cheque! Will you cash on it; how much will you cash on it; how much water can a testy fish drink out of the Atlantic Ocean? This cheque has the Name that is above ALL names as its guarantor. So whatever happens to you this week is a function of the decisions and choices you make, and has nothing to do with any external factors, including Satan, or whether or not God loves you. Have a blessed, God-centred and victorious week. Further Reading: mark 9:23-24; Matt. 21:21-22 Oasis from HelpMasters…

“Blessed is the man who perseveres under trials, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him.” (James 1:12NIV). It is another day, the beginning of another working week. Wow, what a wonderful privilege to be given another chance at life. But when you prayed this morning, you were definitely not thinking of trials; and if the thought of trials came to you, you probably would have increased the time of your prayers, rejecting and praying against them! But dear friend, God says there is a blessing for you in the trials that will come your way today as well as in the course of this week. Does that sound strange and counter intuitive to you? It should not, if you have learnt some lessons in the ways God, your Heavenly and Loving Father operates. Look at this above passage again; it does not say If, what it says is When. Trials will come for you this week or even this day; you are to embrace it; draw on the grace tha…

“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and forever! Amen.” (2 Peter 3:18NIV). To many people, growth or growing would seem a natural and automatic phenomenon. But a close examination of life reveals that it is not always so. Yes, all living things have the potentials to grow, but do they all really grow? And even if they grow, do they all grow in the way that is desirable and expected? Those in agriculture know what efforts they expend to ensure that the seeds planted germinate and grow to produce fruits. Human beings, especially mothers do a lot to ensure that the sucking baby on their breast at birth does not remain in that state! Can the same be said of our life in Christ? The passage before us this week talks not just about growth, but growth in some specific direction. Moreover, it is a directive not something we really have a choice about. Treating it carelessly attracts grave dangers; and the growth is …

“…Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you until all the work for the service of the temple of the Lord is finished.” (1 Chronicles 28: 20 NIV). Fear paralysis, stifles and blocks us from doing the things we Need to do. This is your week of excellent and successful performance and its resultant achievements. But you must be careful not to allow fear come in and cripple you! God has promised not to forsake or fail you. You do not need any other assurance or motivation. Go on into this new week, and new month and do exploits, as you complete those tasks which have laid undone or are seemingly dead. Have a blessed, God-centred and victorious week. “What other nation is so great as to have their gods near them the way the Lord our God is near us whenever we pray to him?.” (Deuteronomy 4:7NIV). What a question; what a challenge? But perhaps the more serious question is: Do you know and have this God? Well before you answer, let me explain that the God being spoken about here is NOT the God of everyone! Does that surprise you? It should not. Yes, He is the God who made everything and created human beings; but He only has relationship with those who have to come His saving knowledge through the finished and unfathomable work of His only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my friend, brother, and my sister, as you take on another week under the grace of this Special God, He will be near you; do exceedingly marvellous things; make you distinct; and hear and answer your prayers, if you have a personal relationship. The choice is yours! Have a blessed, God-centred and victorious week. Further Reading: Matt…

“And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. … But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will.” (Roms.8:26-27 NLT). Congratulations and welcome to the new month of November! In this month and starting from today let me share with you a secret; you probably know it, but you often neglect it. Intentionally Find, Walk and Work with the Holy Spirit. You cannot do anything worthy of note, especially from God’s own perspective on your own strength, this day, week or new month, or whenever. This is not being pessimistic, a curse or an over-statement. Human beings including Christians are prone to pride, and you are not exempted. As the Scriptures rightly stated, it is does not depend on human will or effort but on God who shows mercy! Yes, our devotion is great; prayer and fasting, and other spiritua…

“Stay Alert! Watch Out For Your Enemy, The Devil. He Prowls Around Like A Roaring Lion, Looking For Someone To Devour.” (1Peter 5:8 NLT). What a sobering and important warning as we take on a new work week. It is not intended to scare and paralyse us. As it is often said, a known problem is half solved. So this warning from the Lord is important because, as part of the plan and scheme of the devil, humans often work and live in extremes. Some live in the perpetual fear of the devil, and spend their whole life binding and casting away the devil; staying away in some holy protection (abe abo); neglecting the productive things that they should be doing; while others live as if the fact of the devil and his demons are for the comic books and movies. Both of these are not only wrong, but have become part of the tactics of the devil, to bring blindness, which stops us from engaging him in the way that defeats him. Therefore, be wise and be alert. I like to say that the devil does n…

“Work Willingly At Whatever You Do, As Though You Were Working For The Lord Rather Than For People.” (Col.3:23 NLT). This Is The Great Work Ethic That The Lord Has Given To Us That Transforms Work Into Desirable And Enjoyable Service To The Lord, Contribution To Human Lives, And Ministry That Makes The Lord Known To The Whole World From Our Own Little Corner! Our ‘whatever you do’ becomes our Powerful Pulpit from Where The Gospel Rings Out Undeterred By Any Barrier Whatsoever. But How Few There Are In The Church, Even Among Leaders Who Know, Believe, and Practice This Ethic. Today as you have been given another privilege of life and work – and work must be seen beyond paid employment, it is “Whatever You Do”- may I challenge you to consider a change of perspective about whatever you do? Seeing work as the privilege to make contribution; to use our skills, knowledge, and experience to add value; and to make a difference to your own small world, transforms work fro…

The Overflowing Nov 11, 2020
“… Superabundantly, Far Over And Above All That We Ask Or Think…” (Eph. 3:20 AMPC) God’s plan and desire for mankind is Overflow – Overflow with and in His blessings and all kinds of goodness. He made a strong statement in this regard with the Garden of Eden – a special habitation He made for His people, represented by Adam and Eve. Eden was well provided for; lacking in nothing that mankind needed for a satisfying and fulfilling life, within the liberty God has provided (Gen.2:7-17; 21-25). However, following the fall of Satan, which turned him into a rebel and terrorist, things changed. When Satan (Lucifer) rebelled against the authority of God his Maker, a curse was placed on him (see Gen. 3:15; Isaiah 14:12-15). But he was not satisfied with his failure; he started another programme of challenging God by tempting and corrupting mankind, in a bid to make them lose their heritage in God just like he had lost his own. Satan is still executing this plan, hence ther…
Your Peace Nov 8, 2020
You Will Keep In Perfect Peace All … Whose Thoughts Are Fixed On You.” (Isaiah 26:3 NLT). Dear Friend, Family and Reader, How wonderfully encouraging, and reassuring to know that as you take on a new week, in a new month, that you have Peace, I mean Perfect Peace, in a world so turbulent that it is possible to use turbulence as the other name for our world. Peace, a very rare commodity; the Nobles; Powerful; Wealthy; the Egg Heads (Academically Educated); and the Who Is Who; as Well as The Poor; Beggarly; and Simple; all search for it. If the truth be told, many don’t find it even by the time they return to the grave; yes, this is an extremely rare commodity that has defied any permutation of acquisition. Yet it is offered freely to “… all who trust in You (GOD); all whose thoughts are fixed on You”! Incredible; impossible; unfathomable; just as it is unbelievable; that something so seemingly simple and easy to experience, is outside the reach of people, even th…
Predisposition to Restore Nov 5, 2020
“Then If My People Who Are Called By My Name Will Humble Themselves and …” (2Chronicles 7:14 NLT). One Of The Most Wonderful Privileges of Our ‘Childrenship’ With Our Heavenly Father Is Our Father’s Predisposition To Restore Us! He knew from time that we are all like the prodigal son/child and just like his father was on the look-out for him the moment he left out of his house, our Heavenly Father is on the look-out for us. The best of us, yes, I mean the best of us, is not without stains of corruption in one or the other of life; and the Bible describes such seemingly great moral or spiritual splendour as we may think as “filthy rag”. Did you get that – filthy rag; a Rag is a bad enough but for it for be qualified as filthy, underscores the horrible and helpless state of our lives left to ourselves. Therefore, to know that whatever our situation, our Father has our back and is watching out for us; what a privilege. Yes, many abuse this privilege from t…
Transformed By Thought Nov 1, 2020
“Don’t copy the behaviours and customs of this world, but …” (12: 2 NLT). “Don’t copy the behaviour and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” Romans 12:2 NLT Greetings my friend and welcome to another day, a precious and invaluable privilege. Let me share some thoughts with you from the above passage; and I will quickly add that I am not preaching, and I am not a Pastor. I am just a servant (Minister) of God, who is learning to use His words as basis for life, just like people generally have philosophies or convictions that shape their life. So ordinarily, your religious persuasion should not be a concern. Yes, the above passage is heavily loaded and can be divided into 5 parts. I will be dealing with the first part – “Don’t copy the behaviours and customs of this world, which has been highlighted as the key…
Oasis Ministry… Your Refreshing for Life’s Journey
Topic: Our Stewardship Key Verse: “You did not choose me but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit – fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.” (John 15: 16 NIV). It is amazing to observe how believers act like believing atheists, especially at this time of the year. They join the people of the world to make plans and resolutions, which they stop following no sooner than they are made. They behave as if they own their lives and can control the events of their lives. This focus on life from the perspective of being in charge is Idolatry, since the things they pursue as goals and resolutions become the focus of their lives, taking the place of the Almighty God. But the Bible reminds us that human beings did not make themselves, no matter the billions of unverifiable theories and thinkings they come up with. None of those theories or thinking has been able to create even the smallest ant, in ways that are different from what…

Oasis Ministry… Your Refreshing for Life’s Journey
Topic: The Matchless Power of God Key Verse: “Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return to you at the appointed time next year and Sarah will have a son.” (Genesis 18:14 NIV). Human beings generally speaking love power, and some can go to the extreme to secure power. When their efforts fail, they resort to actions that are damaging, destructive and dangerous. Most people will remember the actions of one of such persons, who was going to bring down the government of his country because his desire to remain in power failed. Despots and authoritarian regimes feature such negative quest and expression of power. But the desire for power, be it political, financial, social, or positional, should not surprise anyone, because when God created human beings, He gave them the privilege of having dominion over all other creatures. This is power par excellence, and beyond whatever human beings have today or seek to possess! The challenge is that the kind of power human beings st…

OASIS Dec.21-27, 2020
“Understand this, my Dear Brothers and Sisters: You must all be Quick to Listen, Slow to speak, and Slow to get angry” (James 1:19 NLT). It is my desire to share with you today the convictions I received from reading this familiar passage; because I have been blessed – convicted and challenged to do better; and I trust and pray that you will be blessed also. You must all be Quick to Listen! This is a great admonition; a great commandment, particularly when taken together with the next verse, “Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires” James 1:20). Is God saying not to be angry at unrighteousness? Far be it. The point is to LISTEN FIRST. Listening is the most difficult part of communication. Many confuse it with hearing. No, they are not the same thing; little effort is needed to hear; because if our ears are functioning well, there is a membrane there that collects the sound from the words being said and convert them into sounds that we hear – no effo…
OASIS Dec.14-20, 2020
“Share Each Other’s Burden, And In This Way Obey The Law of CHRIST” (Galatians 6:2 NLT). This commandment definitely emanated from the Loving and Compassionate nature of our Heavenly Father, who wants us to act like Him, having made us in the first place in His nature. He always shows us loving care and kindness (grace) even when we do not deserve it. And our Lord Jesus Christ, made loving one another a measure, and a singular characteristic that should distinguish us as His followers (Christians). What a beautiful world God designed for us, especially as Christians, from which we have allowed sin and blindness from Satan to alienate us. This commandment is also coming from the recognition of the fact that burdens and challenges will abound in a fallen world, with the enemy of God and our enemy – Satan still prowling about seeking whom he will destroy, especially those who are careless about their faith and have bought hock, line and sinker, into the delusions of our inst…
OASIS Dec.7-13, 2020
“These were the potters, and those that dwelt Among Plants and Hedges: There They Dwelt With The King For His Work” (1Chron.4:23 KJV). Among Plants and Hedges! What a place to be; and to be doing the work of the king. The New Living Translation Bible (NLT) translated the last phrase of this verse as: “They lived there and worked for the King.” Wow, this is mind blowing, put alongside our craze for the limelight, position, and influence; even among us in the church from the leadership to the led! Yes, not only the workers, even the king dwelt among the plants and hedges! What a sobering revelation; the king dwelling among potters, plants and hedges? Some may argue that this happened to King David at the time when Soul was still king, and he was running for his dear life. Sure, that may be the situation, but it did not remove the fact that he was a king, chosen and duly anointed by God. How many princes and princesses (Kings and Queens in waiting); and those who go on self-exi…

“… Unless A Kernel Of Wheat Is Planted In The Soil And Dies, It Remains Alone. But Its Death Will Produce Many New Kernels – A Plentiful Harvest Of New Lives” (John 12:24 NLT). Yes, we all like abundance; we pray for it; we strive for it; and are thought to live for it; but little do we connect it with death! The kernel of wheat must die in order to produce the seeds that become flour for bread and other related products. This teaching by Jesus of getting by first giving is counter-intuitive and very contrary to the grabbing, grasping, and striving to amass more and more, that is prevalent in our modern culture. And Christians are not left behind in this pursuit, as the motivation to excel in it is couched in different doctrinal jingoism and persuasion. But Jesus Christ our model taught and lived service; giving; and death; for others – the whole world, and not grasping; grabbing; extortion; and amassing! And He asks you: what will it profit you if you gained the who…
OASIS Nov. 23 – 30, 2020
“Seek The Kingdom Of God Above All Else, And Live Righteously, And He (GOD) Will Give You Everything You Need.” (Matt.6:33 NLT). Yes, this is about getting and setting our priorities right in order to obtain what really matters! We are made by God; and what is more, we exist and function by His grace. Yet this Being who not only gives us our lives, but sustains and maintains it, is not often our priority; not our focus; and some even disdain and reject Him outrightly? Indeed we serve and live under a most Merciful and Loving God; glory Hallelujah! So today, dear friend, as you have been given another privilege of life, may I remind you that whether you accept it or not, you live under a King with a Kingdom; and His Instruction is that you put the pursuit; knowledge; and your obligation to this King and His Kingdom as first in any form of priority that you make and will ever make. It is a command from the King of kings; and if you know anything about the implications of obe…
