“… My Power Works Best In Weakness …” (2Cor. 12:9 NLT).
Amazingly and Incredibly Wonderful; incomprehensible to the natural man (mankind)! Yes, unfathomable! This is the way of the spiritual; the super natural, about which the best of scholars of all the ages are dump-founded, because these are spiritually and not intellectually understood. Power in weakness! This is the message; pattern; and standard operating procedure, Jesus Christ, our Lord, Master, Redeemer and Mentor gave to the radical –turned Apostle – Paul. The same is true and very relevant to anyone who claims to be a follower of Jesus Christ today; who wants to live an authentic life; and who wants to amount to anything in His (Jesus Christ’s) kingdom. The race is not to the fastest; and the horse is ready for battle, but victory belongs to the Lord, so says the Scriptures. So God has always worked through completely broken but yielded vessels, to manifest His greatness, so that the glory will be to the Lord, and mere mortal man will know that the Almighty God rules in the affairs of mankind. Sure, this may sound and come across as counter-intuitive, but it is as real as darkness and daylight.
Take it or leave it. Check history for the records – Noah, the Ark, and the flood; Abram (Abraham) the journey to the unknown and the a new people and tribe-the Israelites; Moses Pharaoh and the Exodus; Elijah, Ahab and his 400 prophets of Baal; Daniel plus, and Nebuchadnezzar and Belshazzar and the first human cloned into an animal; Jesus Christ, Pilate and the Sanhedrin and Salvation; Peter, the Apostles and the founding fathers of the Church of Jesus Christ; the early Church fathers and the Roman empire and the growth and reformation of the Church; Hitler with his gas chambers and the modern nation of Israel; Nelson Mandela, apartheid and independent South Africa; Nigeria and the coalition of Babangida and Abacha and on June 12 we Stand and #EndSARS; the list goes on. This Almighty; Omnipotent; Omniscience; and Omnipresent God, is still on the throne of the universe and He says, who are you who resists Me and my appointed ones, it/they will be brought down like a pack of cards. So He warns and admonishes: submit to your Lord, King, and Maker, and receive grace and mercy for life, living, and service.
Remember, naked; empty, and powerless, mankind (you) came into this world; and this mankind is the “Made” and Not The Maker. Therefore, if we are ever going to amount to anything; if we are ever going to be useful; we must stop arguing and struggling with the Maker. A lump of clay remains useless except it allows the porter to fashion it in whichever way the porter deems fit, for it to leave the state of being mere clay. Christian and friend, do you want to amount to anything of real value? Do you want to fulfil any goal or whatever you consider a calling or ambition? Then remember and accept this seemingly old fashion; and counter-intuitive message: you will only achieve, have real strength and relevance, when you submit; give up your pride; sense of accomplishment; material well-being; reliance on hefty bank account; position and influence; and you name them. You know them – those things upon which you have built your life; your seemingly self-made life; give them up and submit to your Maker; because this may be the only reason you are still alive today; that is, to make this correction for your eternal destiny. You did not just happen; it is not about evolution or the big bang theory. You are a mere mortal man/being; but loved and made by the Almighty God, in His image to fulfil a purpose on this side of eternity; physical death does not end it all. Therefore, acknowledge your Maker, the source of your life, submit to Him and you will begin to fulfil purpose and find real fulfilment. Just like you know very well, what is made cannot know more than the one who made it! Acknowledge your Maker; submit to Him, then you will know new, and real strength; and you will receive a proper sense of purpose and direction; and the grace to accomplish will be given to you. You will begin to walk and work in a manner that counts; and whatever you do will bring blessings to the people of your generation; and it will have eternal value, and be recorded in the annals of the Creator; who sees the hearts of mankind and the earth is His footstool.
As you receive the privilege to end one month and move into another, remember: Power In Weakness; That Is The Method Of Kingdom Exploits And Accomplishments.
